Last Weekly

Hey guys! I know it's been a while since I've written... Part of that is losing track of time and part of that is also not knowing what to write about. XD

My last few weeks were definitely interesting, but I loved them. I enjoyed serving at the Bird Refuge and the elementary school a few more times. It's been really cool to see how well the little kids speak Spanish now compared to how they were at the start of the school year. And I've improved with bird identification after volunteering at the refuge.

I can't remember if I've mentioned this in past emails, but I've also been attending an Institute class. It's about forgiveness and how to use the Atonement. I've been loving it so far. The teacher is very patient and takes his time to explain when he can see we're confused.

I managed to finish the Book of Mormon one more time before I got released last week. That brings my total of readings up to 11. I read through it 9 times as a missionary. (I wish it was an even number, haha, but I'm still really happy that I was able to read through it so many times.)

My knee has been getting better. It almost feels back to normal. I now have very strong faith in the body's ability to heal and in the miracles of modern medicine. It may seem odd to say this, but in hindsight, I'm glad I was able to go through the experience of a slow recovery. It helped me to learn some much-needed patience. :)

I learned many things on my mission, and I'd just like to share a few of the most impactful lessons. Daily scripture study and meaningful prayer is so important! I can feel the difference in my day when I make time to study the scriptures versus when I don't. I've also learned to follow promptings, even if they seem small. And I know that God has a plan for each of us. He can see farther ahead than we can, and He will guide us down the right path.

Not sure how to close my last email, but I hope that everyone is doing well!

Love,
Sister Howard
