Your Missionary Has Arrived In The Canada Edmonton Mission

Dear Brother & Sister Howard,

We are thrilled to welcome your daughter to the Canada Edmonton Mission. It's been a unique time for us all and we are grateful to have your daughter serve amongst us.

We are so grateful for your daughter's desire to serve the Lord! Attached you will find a picture of her with Sister Cowley and I and with her new companions. We thought that you might also enjoy this group picture of all the missionaries that arrived yesterday.

We know that your missionary eagerly anticipates the emails she will receive from family and friends each week. To help her stay focused, we would ask that you consider sending your daughter's  weekly email as close to Preparation Day (Monday) as possible. When emails arrive, they show up in the missionary's 'inbox' and can become an unnecessary distraction. Your daughter understands that any critical information from home would be communicated through us to them.

Although our missionaries are permitted to use Facebook, we encourage them to use it for proselyting work only. Missionaries are asked to use a weekly email as the only communication with friends. They are also permitted to have a video chat with you, their parents, on Preparation Day, and use real time messaging with other family members. We would encourage you to always keep your communication with them uplifting. Be wise in determining the duration of your calls. Try to minimize sharing information from home that would be a distraction to them. The Canada Edmonton Mission has a Facebook page which families are welcome to join and follow, Canada Edmonton Mission 2019-2022.

We will care for and continue to minister to your missionary while she serves here in northern Alberta. We know your family will be blessed for your daughter's committed service.
